Sketchup-Rendering

This posting is not supposed to debate on hand drawings vs. computer drawings (anyway, when designing, nothing beats a concept model), besides this subject was over-discusses on so many forums. It is just surprising to see that after Sketchup, Autocad 2007 comes up with a “3D sketch engine”! I obviously welcome this feature, but I can only ask myself: Do clients really ask for these fake hand drawings?

The truth is, it is beneficial in so many situations to present the idea in a more sketchy form than a finished, ultra-photoshopped computer generated photograph. It is sometimes easier to send a message via human generated sketches than using a cold computer generated image. Besides, the price of producing raw 3D documents is low and therefore recommended in early stages of design.
